Refund policy

14-day refund. No questions asked.

The short version

  • Email us at quay@uncle-z.com within 14 days of your purchase.
  • Mention the email address you bought under and we'll process the refund through Polar.
  • Your license is revoked at the moment we process the refund. You can keep using Free tier on the same device — local data, saved queries, and connection profiles all stay intact.
  • You don't need to explain why. We'd love to know what didn't work for you, but it's not a condition of getting your money back.

What's eligible

  • Subscriptions — full refund within 14 days of the most recent renewal. After 14 days, you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals; the current period continues until expiry, then your tier reverts to Free.
  • Lifetime licenses — full refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Add-on devices — full refund within 14 days of the add-on purchase. Devices already activated against the add-on are deactivated when the refund processes.
  • Volume / team licenses — same 14 days, partial refunds prorated per seat if some seats have been activated.

What's not eligible

  • Purchases older than 14 days — we can't refund those, but we'll work with you on edge cases (technical issue you couldn't surface in time, accidental renewal you didn't notice, etc.). Email us, we read every message.
  • Chargebacks — please email us first instead of disputing your card. Chargebacks cost everyone money and we'd rather just refund you.

How the refund actually works

Polar is our merchant of record. When you ask for a refund, we issue it through Polar's dashboard. Polar processes the reversal back to your original payment method (card or bank). Time-to-arrival depends on your bank — usually 5–10 business days.

Your license id is invalidated server-side immediately, regardless of when the money lands. You can re-purchase at any time if you change your mind.

Why this policy

The 14-day window is long enough to give Quay a real workout against your databases. If you can't tell whether it works for you in 14 days of normal use, we don't deserve your money. The "no questions asked" piece is so you don't have to justify your decision — your time is worth more than that.
